This is my exhibition cake for the Annual Day of Sharing organized by the “Frosting Creators of San Antonio” Club. I’m a proud new member of the club which is open to all kind of bakers and sugar artist with all levels of experience. Members of the Club were invited to create a dummy cake to be displayed during the event as an example of what we can do with sugar. The Day of Sharing will be next May 1st. and they will have demonstrations from very well known sugar artists like Debbie Brown consider UK’s best-selling author of character and novelty cake books and Denise Talbot that have compete in TLC Ultimate Cake off Challenge, of course they will also have cake supply vendors, raffle tickets and cake displays. I’m very excited because I just discover the association and is the first time that I will be attending the event.
I can’t believe time goes by so fast, is already a week since my last post with all my “Our Lady of Guadalupe” cakes were I promise to share other treats that I have prepared to complement those cakes. I was really busy this week but here they are as an example of how versatile a theme can be :

This year my oldest son birthday was the same day as the celebration of the Chinese New Year so his cake was a Chinese Dragon. Este año el cumpleaños de mi hijo mayor fue el mismo dia de la celebracion del Año Nuevo Chino asi que su pastel fue un Dragon Chino.
We took the cake, some of the chinese decorated sugar cookies I already posted and a paper dragon that I make to his preschool class. He really enjoyed his celebration (so much that I have to pick him up in the principal office 2 hrs. earlier because he was misbehaving . . . upppss). This was the only cake I prepared during the Holiday Season. The cake was vanilla flavor, I filled it with a delicious fresh strawberry mousse and covered with Swiss meringue. On top of that I covered and decorate it with Marshmallow Fondant and some sugar paste and royal icing accents.
The cake was a request from a friend that wanted something really special for one of her good friend. The cake travel all the way to Houston and I heard that they really like it. Yeesss. !!!
